Graduates of this course will be able to set for the competency evaluated nursing assistant exam. The class does provide students with the skills and information they need to be able to succeed on the test and to become certified.
There are opportunities to receive some financial aid for this class. Some scheduling flexibility is also important which is why students need to meet with their academic advisor. This course is worth a total of 10 credits. Students will not pass the course if they do not maintain at least a 2.0 average. The nursing assistant classes are provided on the Livonia Campus.
Upon completion of a CNA program, you can apply to sit for the testing exam. The form to apply can be downloaded from www.prometric.com/NurseAide/MI. You will provide proof of your successful completion of the course. Once you take the exam and successfully pass both sections, you will receive your paperwork to become listed on the registry. This will occur about two weeks after you receiving your passing score.
Some individuals can apply to sit for the exam even if they did not finish a training course. This is for those who were certified in other states or have comparable training (such as nursing students or graduates or those who worked in healthcare within the military).
